Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

SkillzHQ Limited is seeking an experienced Group CFO to lead the organization’s financial strategy as it expands from a single-country operation into a pan-African, multi-country platform. This role will oversee capital strategy, multi-currency treasury optimization, investor relations, and build a world-class finance function.

Provide strategic financial leadership, partnering with the CEO and Board on market expansion, capital allocation, and long-term planning.

Design and manage the group’s capital structure, including equity, debt, and hybrid instruments, to support growth while minimizing cost of capital.

Lead regional and global fundraising efforts, representing the company to institutional investors, venture capital, and private equity firms.

Establish and monitor group-wide liquidity, treasury, and FX risk frameworks across multiple entities and currencies.

Lead corporate finance activities including M&A due diligence, valuation, and deal structuring.

Ensure consistent financial policies, reporting standards, and audit readiness across all entities.

Mentor and develop senior and junior finance talent to build a high-performing finance team.

10+ years of experience in finance, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role (CFO/VP Finance) in a multi-entity or multi-country environment.

Proven track record in capital structure design and successful fundraising from regional and international investors.

Deep expertise in corporate finance, M&A execution, and group-level treasury/risk frameworks in multi-currency contexts.

Strong knowledge of emerging-market financial regulations and risk management.

Professional certification such as CFA or an MBA from a globally recognized institution preferred.

Prior experience as CFO or Deputy CFO in venture-backed or high-growth technology companies preferred.
