St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist with a strong background in Microbiology to perform accurate microbiological investigations, support patient diagnosis, and maintain high standards of laboratory quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
Perform microbiological investigations, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology.
Process, culture, analyze, and interpret clinical specimens using standard laboratory procedures.
Conduct microscopy, culture, sensitivity testing, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
Maintain quality control, biosafety standards, and laboratory documentation.
Operate and maintain microbiology laboratory equipment.
Collaborate with clinicians to support accurate diagnosis and patient management.
Monitor infection trends and support infection prevention and control initiatives.
Participate in laboratory audits and continuous quality improvement programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) with a specialization or strong background in Microbiology.
Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and a valid practicing license.
2–5 years post-qualification experience in a microbiology laboratory.
Experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques, biosafety practices, and laboratory quality management.
Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and basic computer applications.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
