Job Summary

A leading West African construction company is seeking an experienced HR & Admin Manager to lead its human resources and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction or heavy industry sector, with a strong background in labour relations, union management, and overseeing HR and administrative operations across multiple project sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison with labour unions, leading collective bargaining, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
  • Recruit technical, M&E, and site-based personnel.
  • Manage office facilities, procurement, company assets, and fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance and driver management.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian Labour Laws and industry-specific safety and engineering regulations.
  • Prepare HR metrics, administrative reports, and cost analysis for senior management.
  • Drive employee engagement and maintain industrial harmony across project sites.
  • Coordinate HR and administrative operations to support business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPM or PHRi are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years' HR experience within the construction or related heavy-industry sector.
  • At least 5 years' experience managing labour relations in a unionized environment.
  • Proven experience leading both HR and Administrative departments in a multinational or regional organization.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to manage complex logistics across multiple project sites.
