Job Summary

A leading company in the aviation industry is seeking an experienced Logistics & Customs Clearance Officer to coordinate the movement and customs clearance of urgent aircraft parts, equipment, and cargo. The ideal candidate will ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of shipments while working closely with logistics providers, clearing agents, and airport authorities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the logistics and customs clearance of urgent aircraft parts, equipment, and general cargo.
  • Coordinate air and land shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, airport procedures, and industry requirements.
  • Liaise with clearing agents, courier companies, cargo handlers, and logistics providers.
  • Monitor and expedite time-sensitive shipments to minimize operational delays.
  • Prepare and manage shipping and customs documentation.
  • Resolve logistics challenges and shipment issues under tight deadlines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key logistics and customs stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations relating to hazardous materials and regulated goods where applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Aero Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in aviation procurement, maintenance planning, logistics, or customs clearance.
  • Previous experience with DHL, FedEx, UPS, airport cargo companies, customs clearing firms, aviation logistics providers, or freight forwarding companies is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in air freight, courier logistics, customs clearance, or airport cargo operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, airport cargo terminals, and courier clearance processes.
  • Experience handling time-sensitive shipments, preferably aircraft parts or technical equipment.
  • Good working relationships with clearing agents, courier contacts, cargo handlers, and logistics providers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Understanding of hazardous materials, regulated goods, and shipping documentation is an added advantage.
  • Honest, organized, proactive, and committed to compliance.
