Job Summary

A company is seeking a competent and experienced Procurement Officer to oversee purchasing activities, ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services while maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation, vendor management, and procurement system skills, with the ability to build supplier relationships and support efficient supply chain operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Obtain, compare, and analyze quotations to secure competitive pricing and quality products.
  • Prepare, process, and manage purchase orders and procurement documentation.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers.
  • Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and inventory documentation.
  • Liaise with internal departments to identify procurement needs and ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve procurement-related issues, supplier disputes, and performance concerns.
  • Utilize procurement and ERP software to manage vendor information, purchase orders, inventory, and procurement reports.
  • Prepare periodic procurement reports and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Good knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using procurement or ERP software such as Zoho Inventory, Zoho Books, SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar systems.
  • Ability to use procurement software for vendor management, purchase order processing, inventory tracking, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
