Junior Loan Recovery Officer

Sage-Grey Finance Limited is seeking a proactive and resilient Junior Loan Recovery Officer to support its loan recovery operations. The successful candidate will manage debt recovery activities, negotiate repayment plans, ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, and maintain positive relationships with customers while minimizing credit risk.

• Follow up with customers on overdue loan repayments.
• Negotiate repayment plans and resolve delinquent loan accounts.
• Monitor loan portfolios and maintain accurate recovery records.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and CBN debt recovery guidelines.
• Prepare recovery reports and update loan management systems.
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders on recovery activities.
• Handle customer interactions professionally while maintaining confidentiality.
• Support legal recovery processes where necessary.

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–4 years' experience in debt recovery, collections, credit risk, or banking operations.
• Experience in a financial institution is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of debt collection techniques, negotiation strategies, and loan documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Familiarity with recovery tools and loan management systems is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High resilience, emotional intelligence, and ability to handle difficult conversations.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and a strong ethical mindset.
• Experience with recovery management software or CRM tools.
• Understanding of Nigerian legal frameworks relating to debt recovery.
• Knowledge of CBN regulatory guidelines on fair debt collection practices.
