Job Summary

Skipper Eye-Q Super Speciality Eye Hospital is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to support eye care specialists in delivering quality patient care. The ideal candidate will assist with diagnostic procedures, patient preparation, equipment management, and record keeping while ensuring smooth clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as visual field testing and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • Measure and record patients’ visual acuity and intraocular pressure
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure all equipment is sterilized, functional, and ready for use
  • Collect patient medical histories and prepare patients for consultation with the ophthalmologist
  • Educate patients on eye care practices, treatment plans, and medication usage
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper data entry into EMR systems
  • Conduct contact lens evaluations and assist with fittings
  • Support the fitting and adjustment of corrective eyewear
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage daily clinic calendars
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and arrange restocking when necessary
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure complete patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)
  • Previous experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Good knowledge of common ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
  • Strong patient care and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Basic understanding of ophthalmic medical terminology
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Completion of a certified ophthalmic technician training program
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and clinical protocols
  • Basic computer literacy
