Medical Counsellor

Skipper Eye-Q Super Speciality Eye Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Counsellor to support patients through emotional, psychological, and treatment-related challenges. The role involves patient assessment, counselling support, and development of structured care plans to improve patient well-being and treatment outcomes.

• Conduct detailed patient assessments through interviews, conversations, and observations to determine appropriate care needs
• Identify and evaluate patients’ emotional and psychological conditions
• Develop and implement effective counselling and treatment plans
• Set and review patient goals in collaboration with clients
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans when necessary
• Educate patients on coping strategies and emotional management techniques
• Maintain accurate records of patient sessions, progress, and treatment updates
• Provide regular feedback and discuss treatment effectiveness with patients

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Medical Counsellor, preferably within an ophthalmology or healthcare setting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level of empathy and ability to build trust with patients
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Proven ability to design and manage effective treatment plans
• Must reside within Victoria Island axis, Lagos
