Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all legal matters related to property acquisition, development, sales, and leasing
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including sale agreements, joint ventures, construction, and vendor agreements
- Ensure compliance with real estate laws, corporate governance, and statutory regulations
- Provide legal advisory support to management on business decisions and risk exposure
- Manage land documentation, title verification, due diligence, and perfection of titles
- Liaise with government agencies, regulators, and external legal counsel
- Oversee litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes
- Develop legal strategies to manage and reduce business risk
- Implement internal legal policies and compliance frameworks
- Support investment structuring, partnerships, and financing transactions
- Lead and manage the legal team and ensure performance development
Required Qualifications
- LL.B and BL (qualified to practice law in Nigeria)
- 4–6 years post-call experience
- Strong background in real estate/property law
- Proven experience in litigation and dispute resolution
- Experience handling high-value real estate transactions and land documentation
- Strong knowledge of land laws and regulatory compliance
- Experience in luxury real estate is highly preferred
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities
