Job Summary

Wemy Industries is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cost Accountant to oversee manufacturing cost control, inventory valuation, budgeting, and financial analysis to support profitability and operational efficiency across production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standard costing systems for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Monitor production costs and identify wastage, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Review product costing periodically and recommend pricing adjustments
  • Ensure accurate allocation of overheads across production lines and cost centers
  • Ensure proper valuation of inventory in line with IFRS and company policies
  • Reconcile ERP inventory records with physical stock counts
  • Support and supervise periodic stock counts and investigate variances
  • Track material consumption and inventory turnover rates
  • Prepare manufacturing budgets and support annual financial planning
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams on cost forecasting
  • Monitor budget performance and analyze variances with explanations
  • Conduct variance analysis on material, labour, and overhead costs
  • Prepare monthly cost, efficiency, and margin analysis reports
  • Provide management with insights on cost trends and product profitability
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to inventory and production costs
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements
  • Support internal and external audit processes related to costing
  • Assist in ERP system implementation and improvement for cost tracking
  • Recommend process improvements in cost reporting and production efficiency
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to strengthen cost accountability

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification strongly preferred
  • 4–8 years accounting experience, with at least 3 years in manufacturing cost accounting
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or Odoo is an advantage
