Job Summary

KOKO TV Nigeria is seeking a visionary and digitally fluent Head of News to lead multi-platform news operations. The role focuses on integrated broadcast, streaming, digital, and social content, driving audience growth through innovative storytelling and data-driven strategies.



Key Responsibilities


Lead a fully integrated, 24/7 multi-platform newsroom with a digital-first approach


Develop and implement strategies to grow audiences across linear TV, OTT/CTV, web, app, and social platforms


Accelerate digital transformation using data-driven decisions to increase reach, engagement, and loyalty


Oversee creation and curation of content for website, mobile apps, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and emerging platforms


Supervise streaming operations for live newscasts, breaking news, original content, special events, and live sports


Champion the use of cutting-edge tools, analytics, and workflows for digital acceleration


Drive platform-optimized storytelling and ensure editorial quality, visual presentation, and brand consistency


Foster a culture of digital fluency, innovation, agility, and accountability in the newsroom


Collaborate with Creative Services on integrated cross-platform campaigns and sponsorships


Build, lead, and mentor on-air talent and a high-performing content team, including digital producers, editors, and creators


Support station leadership in strategic planning, budgeting, and capital investment decisions


Manage newsroom, creative, and agency operations in a collaborative environment


Represent KOKO TV in partnerships, events, and engagement initiatives




Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience


7+ years in senior-level newsroom or content leadership, with proven digital transformation experience


Demonstrated success leading integrated broadcast and digital news teams


Strong editorial judgment, leadership, and decision-making under deadlines


Deep understanding of digital-first content strategies, audience growth, and platform-specific best practices


Proficiency with CMS, analytics tools, SEO, social publishing, and digital video distribution


Skilled coach and mentor with a commitment to building diverse, high-performance teams


Experience managing newsrooms, creative agencies, and employment contracts


Willingness to commute and work flexible hours onsite in Ikotun, Lagos
