Head of Operations and Finance

Bayse Markets is seeking a Head of Operations and Finance to lead execution and financial discipline within a product-driven trading and prediction market platform. This role sits at the core of the business, ensuring cross-functional alignment, operational accuracy, and strong financial governance. The successful candidate will drive execution across teams while overseeing finance operations, funds movement integrity, and critical external partnerships.

Lead company-wide planning cycles, execution rhythms, OKRs, and delivery tracking to ensure alignment across product, design, engineering, marketing, and growth teams

Partner closely with product and engineering to convert strategic objectives into measurable, shipped outcomes

Remove execution bottlenecks and manage cross-functional dependencies to maintain delivery momentum

Oversee reconciliations, settlements, payouts, cash flow management, vendor payments, approvals, and internal financial controls

Establish structured financial close processes and reporting systems to support audits, investor reporting, and regulatory preparedness

Manage key external partners including payment providers, banking institutions, KYC services, compliance tools, and data vendors

Negotiate SLAs, monitor partner performance, and handle escalations to maintain operational stability

Develop and document standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency, automation, and reliability

Implement safeguards that reduce fraud exposure and strengthen control across payment and withdrawal workflows

Supervise customer-facing operational processes tied to funds, ensuring timely resolution and high trust standards

Recruit, mentor, and lead operations and finance personnel while fostering accountability and excellence

Minimum of 6 years experience in operations, finance operations, or business operations, preferably within fintech, payments, marketplaces, financial services, or high-growth technology environments

Strong background in reconciliations, settlements, cash management, vendor payments, governance, and financial controls

Proven experience working in a product-focused startup environment with cross-functional team alignment

Demonstrated ability to manage high-impact external stakeholders and strategic partners

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to operational accuracy and risk mitigation

Analytical capability to define performance metrics, build dashboards, and optimize systems using data insights

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to drive clarity and accountability

High level of initiative and end-to-end ownership of responsibilities

Experience supporting audits, regulatory compliance, or investor reporting is an added advantage

Exposure to trading platforms, funds movement systems, or financial risk operations is highly desirable
