Job Summary

The Program Officer will support the implementation of Project Aisha by coordinating day to day project activities, working with community based healthcare providers, government stakeholders, and consortium partners to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in Lagos and Kaduna states.









Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of project activities in line with approved goals, objectives, and work plans


Prepare drafts of work plans, budgets, results frameworks, and related project documents under supervision


Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi annual, and annual project reports


Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including state ministries, agencies, and community partners


Support development of training curricula and capacity building resources


Assist in planning and implementing detailed action plans for project activities


Support state agencies and private sector partners in planning trainings, schedules, and on site mentoring


Participate in planning, executing, and reviewing detailed project work plans


Conduct supportive supervisory visits to public primary healthcare facilities, nurse led facilities, and community based providers


Promote safe and respectful maternal care and ensure women’s voices remain central to all activities


Support strengthening and coordination of referral systems between community providers and health facilities


Contribute to development and review of technical resource materials, tools, and job aids


Support logistics planning for trainings, communication, advocacy, and knowledge management activities


Contribute to monitoring, learning, evaluation, quality improvement, and reporting activities


Required Qualifications

Registered nurse midwife with women’s health focus and project implementation experience OR Master’s degree in public health, health management, health administration, or a related field


Minimum of five years relevant experience, especially in RMNCAH related activities


Experience with private sector health service delivery at state or local government level


Strong technical writing and reporting skills


Experience implementing capacity building activities, trainings, and workshops


Strong problem solving skills with ability to escalate issues appropriately


Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, and Microsoft Teams


Willingness and ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time


Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills in English


Previous experience in RMNCAH


Formal project management training is an added advantage
