Medical Laboratory Scientist – Head of Laboratory

Visco Group of Companies Limited is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to lead the laboratory team, ensuring accurate test results, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient laboratory operations.

Lead and supervise laboratory staff, manage schedules, and assign duties

Perform and oversee routine and advanced tests across hematology, microbiology, chemistry, parasitology, serology, and urinalysis

Validate and release test results with high accuracy

Ensure compliance with MLSCN, NCDC, and all quality and biosafety standards

Maintain and enforce SOPs, manage equipment, and oversee calibration and troubleshooting

Handle inventory management and timely requisitions

Lead QC and QA activities, including internal and external assessments

Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment

Prepare and submit detailed laboratory reports

Provide training, mentorship, and professional development for staff

Collaborate with clinicians and management to support pa

Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS)

Current practicing license from MLSCN

Minimum of 2–3 years post-NYSC experience

Strong technical knowledge across major laboratory units

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

High accuracy, attention to detail, and ethical practice

Ability to manage staff, equipment, inventory, and workflow effectively
