The Manager, Legal & Compliance will provide legal advisory, manage litigation, ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, review contracts, support company secretarial functions, and maintain relationships with regulators. The role requires strong analytical ability, litigation experience, and knowledge of Nigerian investment and capital market regulations.
Conduct legal research on investment regulations, securities law, corporate governance, and related areas
Provide legal opinions on regulatory issues, business risks, and transactions
Monitor changes in laws and advise internal stakeholders
Manage litigation processes and coordinate with external counsel
Track case timelines, prepare updates, and handle court-related documentation
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in financial services operations
Maintain working relationships with regulators such as SEC and NGX
Support preparation and submission of regulatory filings
Review and draft contracts, negotiating terms and identifying potential risks
Maintain organized records of contracts and legal documents
Assist in maintaining statutory records and corporate registers
Support planning and coordination of board and committee meetings
Contribute to corporate governance compliance
Support regulatory engagements and capital market compliance activities
LLB and BL with at least Second Class Upper
4–6 years post-call experience
Strong background in financial services or top-tier law firm experience
Knowledge of Nigerian investment regulations and compliance standards
At least 2 years experience in a similar legal or compliance role
ICSAN/CGI membership is an advantage
SEC Sponsored Individual license is an added advantage
