Modern Trade Manager

Sonia Foods Industries Limited, a leading tomato products processing company in West Africa, produces high-quality tomato mix, seasoning blends, and spices under the Sonia brand. The company is seeking experienced Modern Trade Managers to drive sales growth, manage key accounts, and ensure effective product visibility within modern trade channels across Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano.

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and distribution targets in assigned regions
• Manage and strengthen relationships with key modern trade partners, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, and chain stores
• Negotiate listings, promotions, activations, and in-store visibility agreements
• Monitor inventory, product availability, and ensure timely order fulfillment
• Lead and guide merchandisers and promoters to ensure proper display and execution of marketing activities
• Analyze competitor activities and market trends to recommend strategic actions
• Prepare and present periodic sales and performance reports
• Ensure compliance with trade terms, credit policies, and payment timelines
• Identify new business opportunities within modern trade channels
• Collaborate with marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to achieve set objectives

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of FMCG sales experience, including at least 3 years in modern trade management
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills
• Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Excellent understanding of Nigeria’s modern trade landscape and key retail accounts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Willingness to travel frequently across assigned locations
