The Marine Superintendent will oversee the safe and efficient operation of marine vessels, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. This role involves managing crews, coordinating logistics, monitoring vessel performance, and implementing operational policies to maintain safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee safe and efficient operation of marine vessels in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Manage marine crew, including scheduling and maintaining adequate manning levels.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure vessels comply with international maritime laws and company standards.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor vessel performance and maintenance schedules; review reports and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams for repairs, upgrades, and technical guidance.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost management for marine operations.
  • Liaise with port authorities, regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate logistics for vessel movements and port calls.
  • Prepare and submit regular operational and safety performance reports.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in marine operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., STCW, GMDSS) highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in marine management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
