GIZ Ghana is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage the procurement of goods and materials for projects supporting the Ministry of Energy. The role ensures compliance with GIZ procurement procedures, maintains documentation, and coordinates logistics for timely delivery while supporting sustainable and inclusive economic development in Ghana.
Implement and monitor smooth, compliant procurement processes for local and international goods.
Procure materials and equipment in line with GIZ rules, ensuring full documentation in both hard copy and DMS.
Follow internationally accepted procurement and tender procedures.
Maintain clear oversight of all procurement processes and their status for team members.
Maintain and regularly update a supplier database, identifying new suppliers.
Coordinate effectively with colleagues at GIZ Ghana and GIZ HQ.
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, or Commerce.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement within government, NGO, or international organizations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general ICT applications (MS Office, email, internet).
Familiarity with public sector contracting rules, especially GIZ regulations.
Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work efficiently in multicultural environments under time pressure.
Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to quality and process improvement.
