Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator

Ensure continuous and effective functioning of the Security Communications System (SCS) to support UN personnel safety and security within the designated Area of Responsibility (AOR).

* Monitor and maintain SCS operations within the AOR

* Keep a 24/7 watch on security situations, UN movements, and activities within AOR

* Maintain and update the Daily Staff List

* Operate SCS equipment and provide technical communications support

* Maintain HF, UHF, and/or VHF radio communications for emergencies

* Advise SOC/S on enhancing communication capabilities

* Draft and disseminate Security Information Threat (STIs) notices, alerts, and daily media monitoring reports

* Support maintenance and repair of communications equipment

* Perform other tasks as directed by FSCO and SOC/S

* High school and/or technical qualification in communications (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

* Recognized certification in radio communication is desirable

* Minimum 2 years’ experience in practical communications, preferably military, police, or related field

* Prior experience with UN system or international NGOs is an advantage

* Fluency in English
