Job Summary

The Hospital for Trauma and Surgery is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support prescription processing, medication preparation, customer service, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. The role requires accuracy, professionalism, and experience in pharmacy operations.




* Receive and review prescription requests (written, electronic, or refill) and enter patient, prescription, and insurance details into the pharmacy system.

* Confirm completeness of all information before forwarding to the pharmacist for review.

* Select and prepare medications including counting tablets, measuring liquids, or weighing powders.

* Package and label medications accurately with patient and drug details.

* Assist the pharmacist in preparing compounded medications.

* Attend to patients in person and via phone while directing clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.

* Provide medication usage guidance under pharmacist supervision.

* Handle transactions, payment processing, and customer interactions.

* Monitor pharmaceutical inventory, restock supplies, and remove expired items.

* Organize inventory and maintain proper storage conditions.

* Process insurance claims, resolve basic rejections, and manage billing procedures.

* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.

* Assist with audits and ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and quality standards.

* Keep pharmacy workspaces clean and well-organized.

Required Qualifications


* B.Sc or HND qualification.

* Minimum of 2 years experience in a pharmacy technician role.
