Head of Medical Services

The Head of Medical Services provides strategic and operational leadership for all clinical and medical functions within the HMO, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality healthcare services and full regulatory compliance.

* Develop and execute medical strategies aligned with organizational goals

* Drive clinical decision-making to promote evidence-based, cost-effective care

* Monitor and control medical claims to prevent abuse and ensure optimal utilization

* Establish quality improvement programs and conduct clinical audits

* Evaluate, accredit, and manage the provider network

* Build and maintain partnerships with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers

* Ensure compliance with NHIA, HMO regulations, and healthcare laws

* Lead internal audits and coordinate responses to external audits/inspections

* Recruit, train, and develop medical personnel including doctors, nurses, and case managers

* Supervise team performance and ensure KPIs are met

* Prepare and present periodic medical operations reports to management

* Manage departmental budget and ensure cost containment

* MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution

* Active MDCN license

* 7–10 years post-NYSC experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role in HMO or healthcare setting

* Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Health Management, or Business Administration is an advantage

* Strong knowledge of HMO operations, NHIA guidelines, and healthcare financing in Nigeria
