DHL Express is hiring a Business Development Specialist to drive growth through acquiring new customers in the heavier-weight express segment (30–1000 kg shipments). Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities in the heavier-weight shipment segment
Collaborate with Core and Retail Sales Teams to win high-volume shipments
Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and strategic planning
Conduct in-depth customer needs analysis and provide customized DHL Express solutions
Negotiate and close profitable new business deals
Coordinate onboarding and handover to Core Sales for account management
Research market trends, customer sectors, and competitive activity to guide strategy
Leverage DHL’s global network, product portfolio, and digital tools
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with decision-makers
Maintain sales records and CRM data (COMET/STELLAR)
Provide timely sales forecasts and reports
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields
3–5 years of proven B2B sales experience, preferably in express logistics, air freight, or transport
Demonstrated ability to win and develop new accounts with complex logistics requirements
Experience selling heavier-weight or time-definite services is highly desirable
Strong understanding of international express logistics, cross-border trade, and customs processes
Familiarity with DHL Express products and value propositions is an advantage
