Job Summary

Herold, a key subsidiary of group.one and a leading provider of online media and digital marketing services for SMEs in Austria, is seeking an accomplished Head of Central Delivery Office (CDO). The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of cross-functional strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, operational excellence, and business transformation goals. This role requires strong leadership, portfolio management expertise, and the ability to drive large-scale delivery functions in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities


  • Define and implement the vision, structure, and operating model for the Central Delivery Office in line with corporate objectives.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable project and program delivery plans.
  • Oversee a portfolio of enterprise-wide initiatives to ensure timely and successful execution.
  • Lead performance reviews, manage trade-offs, and drive focus on high-priority deliverables.
  • Establish standardized delivery frameworks, governance structures, and performance tracking mechanisms.
  • Implement data-driven metrics to monitor progress, ensure accountability, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop project and program managers to strengthen organizational delivery capabilities.
  • Engage senior stakeholders to align on expectations, scope, and issue resolution for critical business initiatives.




Required Qualifications


  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in program or portfolio management, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven record of delivering complex, organization-wide initiatives tied to business strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing or scaling PMO, CDO, or similar strategic delivery functions.
  • Certification in PMI, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent is an asset.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Expertise in portfolio governance, OKR alignment, and performance management frameworks.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead high-performing teams and influence cross-functional collaboration.
