Job Summary

The IRC is seeking a Research Coordinator to lead the implementation of nutrition research projects focused on acute malnutrition, including feasibility, acceptability, and costing studies for locally driven supplementary feeding approaches. The role involves coordinating research teams, ensuring high-quality data collection, liaising with stakeholders, and supporting dissemination of findings.








Key Responsibilities

Coordinate preparation and implementation of studies, including protocol development, stakeholder engagement, logistics, and budget monitoring

Supervise and train research teams to ensure adherence to study protocols and high-quality data collection

Lead data entry, transcription, qualitative analysis, and synthesis of research findings

Contribute to technical writing, peer-reviewed manuscripts, reports, and dissemination of results

Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and global IRC teams to ensure project alignment and uptake

Ensure compliance with ethical standards, safety, and professional conduct

Required Qualifications

Professional diploma or master’s degree in Health, Nutrition, Social Science, or related field

Minimum 3 years of research experience in health/nutrition, preferably in low-income or humanitarian contexts

Experience supervising field research teams and managing project logistics and budgets

Familiarity with NGOs, acute malnutrition programs, and qualitative research methods

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with qualitative research software (Nvivo, Dedoose) and statistical tools (STATA, R) is a plus

Ability to write clear reports and technical documents under deadlines

Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills

Willingness to work in unstable security environments and travel as needed

Fluency in English
