HSE Officer

A company in Abuja is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to oversee workplace safety, risk management, environmental compliance, and the implementation of effective health and safety standards.

• Develop and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and safety programmes.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety violations.
• Deliver HSE training and safety awareness programmes.
• Monitor PPE usage and compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain emergency response procedures.
• Monitor environmental compliance and hazardous material handling.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, permits, certifications, and SDS documentation.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ relevant HSE experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Relevant certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, NISCN, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, and HSE compliance.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
