Job Summary

Axion Global Engineering Limited is seeking an experienced and highly competent Accountant to join our team in Abuja.

We are looking for a hands-on finance professional who is comfortable managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, monitoring cash flow and ensuring strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and maintain accurate accounting records for the company.

Monitor and reconcile sales transactions from multiple branches nationwide through a centralized POS, ERP or accounting software.

Consolidate daily, weekly and monthly sales reports from all locations.

Reconcile POS sales against bank settlements, cash collections, transfers and accounting records.

Monitor branch-level revenue, expenses, inventory-related transactions and other financial activities.

Identify and investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, posting errors and revenue leakages.

Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.

Perform regular bank, POS, customer, supplier and ledger reconciliations.

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

Track branch and company-wide expenses against approved budgets.

Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow reports and forecasts.

Support budgeting, financial planning and management reporting.

Monitor customer balances, collections and outstanding receivables.

Ensure proper documentation and authorization of financial transactions.

Support payroll-related accounting and staff expense/reimbursement records.

Ensure accurate computation and documentation of VAT, PAYE, WHT and other applicable statutory obligations.

Maintain proper records for audits and statutory compliance.

Liaise with banks, auditors, tax consultants and other financial stakeholders.

Develop and maintain strong financial controls across all branches.

Provide management with accurate, timely and actionable financial information.

Recommend improvements to accounting, reporting, reconciliation and financial control processes.

Required Qualifications

B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

Minimum 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience.

Proven experience managing accounting and sales data across multiple branches or locations.

Hands-on experience using a centralized POS, ERP or accounting software to monitor and consolidate nationwide/multi-branch sales.

Experience reconciling branch sales, POS transactions, bank settlements, cash collections and accounting records.

Experience identifying revenue leakages, discrepancies and unauthorized or incorrect transactions.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Good understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong experience with accounting software/ERP systems.

ICAN/ACCA qualification or significant progress toward professional qualification will be an advantage.
