Hapag-Lloyd is seeking an experienced Inland Product Owner to shape the future of its inland logistics services across West Africa. The role involves developing innovative inland transport solutions, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing customer experience while aligning with the company’s strategic goals.
Identify and develop relevant inland products and premium services with Operations and Sales teams.
Gather market feedback and integrate customer needs into the inland product offering.
Define inland network strategy through analysis of underserved and overserved routes and equipment levels.
Support Sales with inland value propositions and act as the primary point of contact for product-related queries.
Provide priorities and commercial insights to Procurement and assist in defining SLAs for transport providers.
Manage capacity forecasting, utilization, and sourcing of fixed capacities including vendor identification and engagement.
Support Procurement in negotiations with transport partners to expand and strengthen vendor relationships.
Plan and manage strategic vendor relationships to ensure sustainable service quality and capacity availability.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in shipping, container steering, or inland logistics.
Degree or training in Business, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or related fields.
Professional experience in trucking or forwarding within West Africa.
Strong knowledge of inland transportation, trucking, and product development.
Background in sales or operations is advantageous.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong initiative and teamwork abilities.
Strong communication and leadership skills with proficiency in English.
