Host / Server Assistant (Bridgeman’s Chophouse)

The Read House Hotel, Chattanooga’s award-winning historic landmark, is seeking a professional and enthusiastic Host / Server Assistant to join the fine-dining team at Bridgeman’s Chophouse. This dual-role position combines warm, front-of-house hospitality with attentive guest service support in a classic, upscale dining environment inspired by the Roaring ’20s.

• Welcome and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Manage seating chart and maintain smooth guest flow throughout service
• Answer phones, manage reservations, and respond to guest inquiries
• Support servers by preparing tables, assisting with food delivery, and maintaining dining areas
• Perform side work including cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, and preparing food stations
• Ensure compliance with food handling and alcohol service guidelines
• Act as a liaison between front and back of house teams
• Maintain consistent punctual attendance and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous fine dining or hospitality experience preferred
• TABC Server Permit (required within 60 days of hire)
• Excellent communication and guest interaction skills
• Strong organisation and time management abilities
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with POS and reservation systems

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8+ hours)
• Lift and carry up to 10 lbs frequently, 20 lbs occasionally
• Carry service trays with multiple covered plates
• Maintain focus, patience, and professionalism under pressure
