2nd Grade Teacher

Akron Preparatory School, part of the ACCEL Schools network, seeks a qualified and passionate 2nd Grade Teacher to deliver engaging, student-centered instruction that fosters academic excellence and social-emotional growth. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment, apply best teaching practices, and contribute to the school’s mission of providing a superior education for every child.

Prepare and deliver effective lesson plans while adapting to students’ needs.

Use differentiated instruction to support diverse learning styles.

Track and report student progress accurately.

Incorporate research-based teaching strategies into classroom practice.

Manage classroom behavior and promote a positive culture.

Communicate regularly with families on student progress and development.

Integrate technology into lessons to enhance learning.

Participate in school-wide programs, meetings, and events.

Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to continuous school improvement.

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.

Active and valid Ohio teaching license in the relevant content area.

Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

Experience teaching in an urban or diverse educational setting.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and supervise students in multiple settings.

Must pass state and federal background checks.
