Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise inspection, maintenance, and repair of drilling rigs, compressors, and blast-hole drills.
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and execute timely corrective actions to reduce downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance, fuel usage, and component wear; recommend necessary improvements.
- Coordinate maintenance plans with operational schedules to achieve optimal production efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, spares usage, and equipment performance history.
- Enforce adherence to safety, environmental, and technical maintenance standards.
- Participate in the technical evaluation and commissioning of new drilling and blasting machinery.
- Train and mentor technicians and mechanics on safe and effective maintenance practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience maintaining drilling and blasting equipment in mining or heavy earthmoving operations.
- Sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel engine systems.
- Proficiency with OEM manuals, maintenance planning tools, and reliability improvement methods.
- Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and team coordination skills.
