Job Summary

The Vault Recruitment (TVR) is hiring a Senior Accountant for a client in the real estate sector. The role involves managing financial records, ensuring tax compliance, and providing accurate financial insights to support strategic business decisions.


Key Responsibilities


Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards


Maintain accurate general ledger records covering real estate transactions such as property acquisitions, disposals, leases, and rental income


Reconcile bank accounts, escrow accounts, and property-related financial records


Monitor cash flow, revenue recognition, and expenses across multiple properties and projects


Manage accounting processes for rental income, service charges, property management fees, and lease agreements


Track capital expenditures, development costs, and depreciation while ensuring accurate cost allocation


Handle tax-related matters including CIT, VAT, WHT, and PAYE in compliance with Nigerian tax regulations


Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns, statutory remittances, and regulatory filings


Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis while strengthening internal financial controls


Prepare audit documentation and provide financial reports and analysis to management and investors




Required Qualifications

BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline


Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience including 2 years in a Team Lead role and 3 years in a staff-level position


Prior experience in real estate or property accounting


Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is strongly preferred


Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements


Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems


Advanced Microsoft Excel skills


High level of attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work independently


Strong analytical, communication, and financial reporting skills
