Purchase Manager

PG Consulting Limited, on behalf of its client in the building materials and ceramics manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced and analytical Purchase Manager to oversee procurement operations at its Ajaokuta factory. The ideal candidate will ensure cost efficiency, maintain supplier relationships, and drive innovation in sourcing and inventory management.

• Manage procurement operations and ensure timely acquisition of materials for production.
• Maintain a strong understanding of inventory items and manufacturing requirements.
• Liaise with OEMs and suppliers to meet delivery and quality expectations.
• Ensure re-order levels are maintained through effective monitoring and analysis.
• Collaborate across departments to meet procurement timelines and operational goals.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and alternative sourcing strategies.
• Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Negotiate contracts and build long-term supplier partnerships.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in manufacturing or procurement.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and procurement teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
