The Senior Mining and Exploration Geologist will lead and deliver greenfields gold and copper exploration programs, providing technical leadership across field and corporate activities. The role focuses on advancing early-stage exploration projects through robust geological interpretation, drilling programs, and data-driven decision-making.
Lead greenfields gold and copper exploration programs, including geochemical and geophysical surveys
Design, plan, and execute RC and diamond drilling programs
Supervise core logging, sampling, and geological data validation activities
Ensure strict compliance with QA and QC standards across all exploration work
Analyze and interpret geological data using ArcGIS, Surpac, and Micromine
Integrate datasets in collaboration with geophysicists, surveyors, and multidisciplinary teams
Provide technical leadership and on-site support during field operations
Prepare and review technical reports to support exploration decisions and project advancement
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards at all project sites
MSc in Geology is required
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline
Eighteen to twenty years total geological experience
Minimum of fifteen years experience in greenfields gold and copper exploration
At least five years direct involvement in gold and copper mining projects
Strong hands-on experience with RC and DD drilling, core logging, and sampling
Solid knowledge of geochemical and geophysical exploration methods
Proficiency in ArcGIS, Surpac, and Micromine
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities
Ability to work independently and in remote field environments
Membership of a recognized international geoscientist body is an added advantage
